Why does scanning photos have to be such a frickin' hassle?

Posted by jozjozjoz at August 26, 2005 01:08 PMThat's always a problem when either some geek designs it, or some high-powered "human-engineering" designer designs it. Neither of these two extremes relates to the vast majority of users much. Hence, exactly what Deltus said.
It's like that old cartoon drawing of a tire swing beneath a tree limb. All of the umpteen designs are sorta like, but nowhere near as useful as "what the customer wanted".

All software that I've seen that tries to make things easier usually ends up making incorrect assumptions, or not working very well at all.
