Why don't they invent a QUIET drill?

The heating professionals are drilling something LOUDLY in the basement below us.

It is LOUD! Did I mention it's LOUD?! Oh my goodness, it's loud! I daresay it's actually worse the the pile driver, but only because the drilling is happening RIGHT UNDER ME (whereas the pile driver was across the lot/across the street).

I can't take it, but I guess it's the price we have to pay so that we don't get slowly poisoned to death by gas exhaust fumes.

MAKE. IT. STOP!

I'm going to go in the kitchen and eat something. Maybe stuff some sourdough bread in my ears while I'm at it...

Remember the LOUD drilling last week?
Excerpt: Not only is the LOUD drililng back, it's being accompanied by its loud friends HAMMERING, BANGING METAL, GRUNTING, and SWEARING. I didn't blog about it last Thursday & Friday, but I guess the heating guys didn't finish what they started...

Sorry, joz, what did you say? I can't hear you--the drill's too loud!

You forgot to mention that it was loud...

ooh, sounds awful.. though the pile driver does remind me of when i lived in this hole of an apartment in vancouver... where i can hear the neighbours sorta pile driving away in their bedroom. eeks.

Drilling, pile driving... gosh, is it getting warm in here?

I hate it when that happens...makes me skin crawl. Our landlord lives on the floor above ours, and the landing to his loft stairs has him landing (hard) right over the head of our bed. Almost daily I want to go out in my PJs and scream at him for waking me up at 630am. But I've got to believe these urges wont lead to a good relationship in the long run...you're a better woman for bearing it. (wait, this wasnt a giant metaphor about SEX was it...did I completely miss that? doh!)
