It's the third night in a row...

...where I woke up on my own at 4am with less than 3 hours of sleep under my belt. I don't know what's going on, but this is frustrating, because I do get tired later in the morning when I get that little sleep in consecutive nights.

I've been up for more than 3 hours, unable to get back to sleep again. In addition to watching the sun come up this morning, I watched two old episodes of Friends, a re-run of Frasier, and yesterday's Oprah with the makeovers of Julia Roberts & Gisele Bundchen's friends & the Destiny's Child reunion.

Oh yeah, and now I'm blogging.

If I'm going to start my days so early, maybe I need to figure out a way to watch less TV in the mornings. Believe me, I've never been a morning person, so I'm the last person who wants to start my days this early.

Better to lie in bed, even if awake, than to get up and watch TV. At least if you're in bed, there's the chance that you could fall back asleep.

Unless it's something you regularly watch, or choose to TiVo and watch later, or on a DVD you select, television isn't worth the time. Bed and a book are really good ways to get back to sleep. Unless you're reading the wrong kind of book. You know, one with flan and thongs in it.

What?! But I personally signed that book for her!

Seriously, the easiest way to sleep more is to exercise regularly--I was having serious sleep problems myself until I started to exercise on a regular basis and now I sleep fine.

i'm all for the excercise bit. if u're trying to wake up, do something energenic, push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, jog in place...something to energize the bod. if u're trying to get back to sleep, do some stretches and release all the tension in ur body.

of course, me? i usually meditate in bed.

om...om...om...zzzzzzzz
