Do not start out an IM conversation they way I just did.

joz: I meant

joz: ho
joz: Ugh... this is not going well...
Needless to say, I did not get a response...

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work we go. My guess would be that the person didn't respond for other reasons... (mainly because that's the sort of thing I do - leave my IM on and bugger off for hours). Because if the person didn't respond to you because you called him or her a "ho", s/he obviously has no sense of humour. ;)
well, it all depends on who you're referring to as a ho, right? or if you were trying to be one of the seven dwarves, then that might work too.
at least it wasn't me you were saying ho to.
