So I guess various places are hotlinking my copy of the Hey Ya, Charlie Brown .mov... I'm even listed as a "mirror site" on the Venis Productions site. [I was listed second on the list of mirror sites, but thankfully they moved my link down the list.]
So I had this lovely little message waiting for me this morning...
At your current bandwidth usage rate, you are likely to pass the bandwidth limit before the end of the month. Either cut down on the size of the files you serve, or order additional services.
Just for kicks, let's examine the stats...
1/19/04 36.674Mb
1/20/04 27.377Mb
1/21/04 20.273Mb
1/22/04 36.386Mb
1/23/04 42.091Mb
1/24/04 36.068Mb
1/25/04 41.036Mb
1/26/04 49.433Mb
1/27/04 42.547Mb
1/28/04 45.723Mb
1/29/04 45.647Mb
1/30/04 251.384Mb <-- The day I posted the Hey Ya, Charlie Brown .mov
1/31/04 471.709Mb
2/1/04 613.902Mb
2/2/04 6.912Gb
Wanna place bets on how much longer that thing can stay up until I have to take it down?
Posted by jozjozjoz at February 3, 2004 06:05 PMI told you...take it down. This moment. The people who normally come to your site have got it by now, so now you're just playing host to whoever Googles in here with "HYCB".
Take it down! Save us from Joz withdrawal later this month!
Posted by: Mikey2 at February 3, 2004 08:35 PMWhat Mikey2 said. Hotlinkers suck.
Posted by: skits at February 3, 2004 10:56 PMHoly crap! I'm surprised you kept it up this long - especially once you were listed as a mirror site. People are weenies - never trust 'em to download instead of linking.
Posted by: pie at February 4, 2004 12:12 AMJeeezzzzz!!! Haven't these people ever heard of BitTorrent??? TAKE IT DOWN!!
i still say you should snag a mov file from punchbaby.com (a really really nasty one) and substitute it...but that would just eat up more bandwidth...take it down, girlie...they don't need it! let them find it somewhere else!!

See? Now I have bandwidth envy... I want a threatening letter from my host! I haven't hit the GB mark in a month. Sigh. Must post more music...
