Here's another Murphy picture so you can see the girl who needs our good thoughts. We got an update on Murphy's condition last night which is that pretty much nothing has changed.
Initial tests on Murphy's hindlegs show no immediate improvement. She still has no feeling in her back legs and obviously can't move them. It's still rather early because the surgery was only last week, but she's still in the doggie hospital & they hope that she gets to come home soon. Unfortunately, once she gets home, Murphy will have to be confined to a box/crate/kennel which will prevent her from trying to move around and potentially causing more harm to herself for (at least) several weeks.
The good news is that Murphy is well enough that she WANTS to run around. The bad news is that she still can't walk and it may be several weeks before we'll know IF she ever will again. But before they even consider getting Murphy a doggie cart, the vet suggests that they give her time to recover & see if she can regain use of her legs.
This is where our collective positive mental energy comes in. Murphy's mom mentioned that someone she knows has an entire prayer group at her church just for the Murph. Other people have told her that Murphy gets her own line in their daily prayers. I keep good thoughts for Murphy all the time & keep sending her mental messages that I want her to come out and play ball with me the next time I see her. Murphy's mom appreciates all that & also appreciates all the comments & good thoughts via this website.
So keep continuing your mental cheerleading for Murphy. Oh, and if anyone wants to take a loan out for Murphy's surgery, I'm sure her Mom would appreciate that, too.
Poor girl. I am sending happy doggy love to Murphy and her family.

Dogs are just too damn good at that guilt thing. Glad to see she's *feeling* better, even if she's not *doing* better.
