My iPhone burned my feet

I’ve been trying not to complain about it, but I now officially hate my iPhone.

For a while, I had a long love/hate relationship with it. I loved everything about my iPhone… except for the phone part, which I hated.

You see, I’ve had AT&T for a long time and never had problems with reception in my house with my old pink Motorola RAZR.

But once I got my iPhone, people kept complaining about dropped calls, bad reception, or going directly to voicemail when calling me when I was at home. It has gotten so bad, I am using my land line, Yoshi’s T-Mobile cell phone, or my work (Verizon) cell phone instead of my iPhone to talk to people.

WTF is the point of me having my iPhone if I am using every other phone EXCEPT the iPhone!?

Anyway, I got a very important phone call a little while ago and I ran outside to answer the call. (Sometimes if I stand out on the sidewalk near the street, I can get a signal, but people STILL say that I’m cutting in and out).

But I ran outside with no shoes on.

And the darn sun-baked Southern California sidewalk is freakin’ HOT in the middle of the afternoon!

I was running back an forth on the sidewalk… ow! ow! ow! My poor feet!

(I don’t even care what the neighbors must have thought if they saw me running around out there!)

I burned my footsies and I totally blame my iPhone.

When I came back inside Yoshi had no sympathy for me… just some great advice… “WEAR SHOES NEXT TIME!”

(Either I am stubborn or I haven’t learned my lesson yet, but I’m thinking I don’t need to wear shoes… I need my iPhone to work in my house, dammit!!!)

  • So I take it you won’t be getting the 3G iPhone when it comes out then?

  • I’m not sure yet.

They say the antenna is better, but it had better be A LOT better!

  • i have really been thinking about getting the stupid iPhone… i finally think i need to move to the future. But i don’t want to do it unless i know that everything is great. so i think i will wait a little while longer. maybe the new reviews will sway me. As for Yoshi and the sage advice… i think Yoshi and JD went to the same school of thought, because i get those kinds of simple life lessons all the time. What makes them so smart? and what better way to learn that the sidewalk is hot than by finding out first hand? brilliant. you and i are peas in the pod my love…

  • what i really don’t understand is how you went right past the flip flops that are at the front door, out said door and onto the sidewalk? i mean, they’re RIGHT THERE! no sympathy for you!

  • Joz: Is it the phone that’s bad or the telephone company or both? And I am sorry about your feet.
Professoreric: Your father would be green with envy if you showed up with an iphone (“Oh, hey, the reception on this phone is great.” “Where are you?” “Barcelona, calling you from my iphone.”)
Yoshi: maybe the Joz should keep some flip flops outside just in case, what do you think?

  • Flip flops outside?

    NO WAY!

    There are spiders out there!

  • i love you joz… don’t let rachel or yoshi change you.

  • They couldn’t change me even if they tried…

  • Are spiders attracted to flip flops? I’m confused now.

Do other people complain about the iPhone’s reception?

  • Deltus, the weak antenna of the current iPhone is a known problem. Rumor has is that the new 3G version does not have a metal back to help rectify the situation.

  • You can put the flip flops in a spiderproof container. That might work!

  • Uh, joz, maybe you should CHECK your flip flops before putting your feet in them?

Geez, and I thought professoreric loved me …*sigh* :D

  • Funny, I’ve always just used flip flops to kill spiders (and other assorted creepy crawly things). So much that I would think that any insects that see my flip flops would run in horror.

  • Hon, thank god your feet are too big and I can’t wear your flip flops. Who knows what kind of bug guts are on them…
