I thought the effects were great and I loved BumbleBee even as a Camaro. I said "holy crap!" at least five times during the movie, and I think that's a good sign for any action film. and then of course I got on my motorcycle to ride home and maybe rode a little too aggressively. The movie is pretty damned good and a lot more "realistic" than the series of the 80s. You have to think about physics and mass and therefore Megatron would be a better "out of this world" space-plane than a gun. Another example is Bumblebee, he made a cool Camaro and I hate to say it but a VW bug wouldn't have done it. Finally, the little robot that got into all that trouble (the silvery one), he was one of the tapes from the old tape player. I found Optimus' dialog to be annoying especially when he sounded all heroic at the end. Fuck that! Just say something like, "We beat Megatron with the help of humans. We are forever in your debt and will be here to protect you until the end of time." Done. Not that cheesy dialog. Oh well, it was good. The sequel will be better. Okay, I'm done. Oh, and nice stain.
