I was asked to give two picks at 8asians.com for the “Top 15 Sexiest Asian Males, As Rated By the Women of 8A” list. I assumed that I was supposed to choose famous people, as opposed to people I just knew in real life.
So here are my picks from the list:
Russell Wong. He’s not full-Asian, but I’m going to go with old skool: Russell Wong in his heyday. Russell’s looking a little older and Clooney-esque lately, but I love Clooney too, so it’s no surprise he tops my list.
Takeshi Kaneshiro. And for a nice Japanese-Taiwanese hybrid, I vote for Takeshi Kaneshiro. I especially liked him with long hair and shooting arrows in House of Flying Daggers… kind of an Asian Legolas, but hotter than Orlando Bloom…
Joz’s Honorable Mentions: I had a hard time narrowing down to two. Honorable mentions votes go to Daniel Henney, Yul Kwon, Rick Yune, Donnie Yen, Randall (Randy) Park, and Wong Lee Hom. Not in that order. Also, in the interest of full disclosure, Randy and I know each other from our UCLA days, so it’s kind of weird since I know him in real life. But I’ve always had a mini-crush on Randy, more so because he is so freakin’ talented and charismatic. Of course, he’s pretty easy on the eyes, too.

i remember meeting russell wong back in 96 at a GAPSN function and i kinda lost my crush on him after that–even back then you could start seeing the wrinkles…it wouldn’t be bad for me now, but when i was 21/22 and didn’t know any better…pass!
and you DO remember my comment about takeshi earlier in your blog, right?
LoL. You *WERE* supposed to just pick famous celebrities for the list, but other writers decided to re-interpret between the lines. And you’re absolutely right– I never once mentioned specifically it had to be famous people. hehehe.

I maria just loved the movie i think takeshi kaneshiro is a beautiful person he is so fine like the kind of guy god recomended for me, but besides that the movie house of flying daggers was a great film it had a little of everything it resembled some parts in which my life is being and for being a hispanic female i love there marcial arts and all there techniques takeshi and the other actor that played as his rival were the two best looking japanese or chinese actors ive ever seen and i would love to see them in more movies, no ofense i love jackie chan and other actors but these two guy’s just bring alot of charisma and alot with there face expresions in which they make you feel like you are in there acting with them or in real life being part of them, i know it sounds corny but it took lot’s of sighs out of me and it made me cry and it made me be a little stronger with life as it goes on, i would love to meet tkeshi in person all though i know it’s imposible i know there is lot’s of crazy people in this world tha want to do harm to the actors or something mean and for the record i’m not one of them i for once are putting and opinion hope it counts cause i think i just fallen in love with them and i really do love the movie i wish them lots of luck in the world and producers youve done well like we say in mexico viva!!!!! takeshi youve done a good jove take care and love you much. sincerely maria l duenas
