All Los Angeles County Jails on Lockdown
LOS ANGELES - All seven Los Angeles County jails were on lockdown Thursday after another brawl broke out between Hispanic and black inmates, continuing a week of rioting that has injured scores of inmates and killed one.
Five racially motivated fights broke out Wednesday, the largest involving about 300 inmates in a dorm at the medium-security North Facility of Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, about 40 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, said sheriff’s Sgt. Don Manumaleuna.
“Deputies were able to regain control of the facility, and at this time they’re investigating the cause of the disturbance,” he said.
A total of 19 inmates were injured in the fighting Wednesday, one critically, said sheriff’s Deputy Bill Spear. [full story]
Can’t we all just get along?
I agree can’t we all just get along…. don’t these men understand they have to live with eachother and can end up surving more time fighting. Do they not think about the people on the outside who are worried about them? Don’t they think about their families, their children? Black and Brown we’re not very different from eachother…. I’m mexican with a half black baby…. what does that mean for her? Will the mexicans not accepct her because she is half black or will the blacks not accepct her because she is half mexican? These males are not men they are little boys who need to be whooped my their mamas to learn it is not right to seperate people by the color of their skin. And for everyones who calms they are religious think about what God would say…. what he would do. It is a sin what these guys are doing…. fighting because they have nothing better to do…. they have no other way to spend their time….What the hell is wrong with them? Read a book, man read the damn bible. Educate yourself, don’t destroy yourself and by destroying others you are destroying yourself, you are destroying man kind a beautiful treasure God created. This situation is not to be taken lightly. We all just need find our selves and pray.
