brain barf… yum!
My computer (hard drive?) is making an intermittent grinding noise.
Eep.
Ork — that’s NOT good.
You should always be worried. Hard drives do make noise, but if its continually getting louder and more frequent… you have an issue.
It is probably the fan. In that case if the noise stops, the fan might have stopped - not good.
jozjozjoz should have mentioned it’s a vibrating almost grinding noise. i think it’s the hard drive.
Maybe it’s still digesting turkey dinner.
Back up now! important data files to server or CD first, then the other stuff!
If its a manufacturer that ryhmes with hell… call it in and say its grinding they will replace it for noise.
Could be ball bearings fell out, could be the fan (i’d look at the fan — open it up, clear out the dust, moose fuzz, and moth eggs, blow all that shit out.)
