oh where oh where

did my little joz go? oh where oh where could she be?

oh yeah. at the geekfest. hope she’s having a good time, cuz i’m sitting at home, eating pizza and buffalo wings in front of the computer.

yes, joz, you’re coming home to an even messier house than you left. aren’t you excited?

i think i’ll go to bed now. 10:30 is a respectable bedtime, right?

Buffy style?

Chris just announced that dinner is “buffy style.”

I’m scared.

(Ohhh, BUFFET STYLE.)

Blogging from Gnomedex: Wil Wheaton

Wil is reading from his books Dancing Barefoot and Just a Geek.

You can listen at itconversations.com

Updates coming.

UPDATE: Ok, so this is the first time I’ve had a chance to listen to Wil read from his books. He’s doing a kick ass job.

The audience is engaged and laughing.

It is being taped and he’s releasing this performance on a Creative Commons License, so look for it in the coming days. His impromptu commentary and anecdotes are totally funny.

I’ll attach pictures later. I’m not in the mood to do it at the moment. I think I want to listen to Wil’s talk right now. :)

Post-talk update: Wil sold out of the books he brought and folks are already writing about their thoughts on his presentation. I think Wil is blogging now. It’s kind of cool to look over and see Wil on typing on his iBook, especially considering that if I’m perfectly honest, Wil’s blog inspired me to start mine.

Gnomedex 4: Friday photos by Joz

Here’s Anil Dash of Six Apart sitting behind me during one of the panels. I assume he is blogging.

Kathleen using my laptop to blog on at least three different sites.

Marc Brown arrives and sits down next to me. How can I do anything but smile? (Especially because I score Buzznet schwag!)

The Keynote Speaker was Woz (Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer, Inc.). Here’s a photo Joz took of Woz. Hee. I wasn’t sitting all that close and wasn’t using a flash, so the photo is all blurry. He told some fun stories about his passions which led to the creation of Apple. And he told stories about some of the pranks he pulled. My kind of story. Other Gnomedexers have some better photos of Woz: Phil, James, Koozie, The NOIZ. Lunch at the cafe downstairs offered a wide variety of “Oriental Food.”

Two bathroom photos. Why I am ever compelled to take photos in the bathroom, I don’t know. I learned that in casino bathrooms in Tahoe, you can take a ride on the Footsie Wootsie for only 50 cents! (No, I did not try it because I’m not really interested in putting my feet where someone else’s stinky feet have been.) Also above is a blurry self-portrait I took in the restroom. I had a non-blurry photo, but I liked the blurry one better. I’m holding up my Gnomedex badge and also wearing The Jacket.

Except that the spill on my shirt has pretty much dried up…

Here is a photo of me as I am right now, hiding behind the VIA booth with the panel going on in the next room.

Thanks to Phil for the picture. You can clearly see where I spilled on myself already (it’s just water, thankfully). Oh yeah, and you can see the fashion-violation jacket hanging on the back of my chair.

I’m being a little anti-social right now, but hopefully that passes soon because there are a lot of interesting people here I’d like to meet.
