At least you CAN go the hardware store and have a spare key made. I just got a Honda Element and it has a code chip in the key. If I want another one it will be about $25 (and a week from what I hear).
Thats really weird that somebody would make that many spare keys at once.

Lydia locked the rental car’s keys in the trunk! It turned out OK after I called “roadside assistance” and they sent a local guy out to make a spare key. Didn’t cost anything either, which is fair considering the cost of renting that car!
