As promised, here are photos from Sharky & Dözie’s Easter dinner party…
I’m so glad my photoshop escapade didn’t result in my dissinvitation™ from attending Easter dinner, because it was so nice.
Meeting Dözie’s Scottish co-worker Cat/Kat was a true pleasure, and of course, seeing Sharky and Dözie after they had come over and moved so many boxes for us was just an even bigger treat!
And being the gracious hostess, Sharky set the mood by topping the dining room table was with fresh tulips and handmade Easter eggs, and a little bunny.

Sharky and Dözie somehow managed to get Yoshi to eat greens. Of course, I dug right in since the greens were so pretty and you can see how yummy the salad was, with a light red vinagrette dress, topped with feta cheese, walnuts (and black olives for those who don’t hate them).
The main course consisted of ham, asparagus topped with parmesan cheese, a halved-tomato filled with a pesto sauce, shelled edamame, broccoli, and ‘blackened’ rolls. We won’t say whether or not the rolls were SUPPOSED to be blackened or not. ![]()
Yoshi and I brought some red wine to go with the meal. (Note the UCLA Anderson School wine glass.) I think it was the combination of allergy meds and alcohol which made me forget exactly what we were talking about, but I do remember we all laughed a lot and ate a lot. In between lots of lively conversation, Sharky’s Mom called and spoke to everyone at the table. We all gave Sharky and Dözie props for a truly excellent meal, but that was before we had DESSERT!
Similar to a strawberry shortcake, but with a healthy spin, small cakes were layered with the strawberry “sauce” (made with protein powder and fresh strawberries) topped with freshly sliced strawberries… and if you can believe it, it tasted EVEN BETTER than it looked!
Yoshi! and I thank the terrific tag-team of Sharky & Dözie for all their amazing help last weekend. Sharky was a fabulous moving coordinator. Not only did she bring the guys over to move the stuff, she packed the truck, drove her own truck (filled with stuff) to the new place, and backed the perfectly-packed 15-foot moving truck up our teeny-tiny driveway… and unloaded the truck!
As Sharky said on Sunday night, “I’ve touched everything you own at least once, if not twice!”
Having such a wonderful dinner & evening at their beautiful Silverlake place the day after they helped us move was just really over-the-top.
Thanks for everything, Sharky & Dözie! (Sorry it took so long to put these online, but the daily phone call reminders from Sharky, “WHERE’S THE HAM?!” made me smile!!!)
And what would dinner at Sharky and Dözie’s be without a cute, spotted-nosed Biloux sleeping under the table?
We’re so grateful to have such great friends!
