I *did not* break it.

I’ve been driving Yoshi’s car to work most days this week so I’ve been extra careful to be clean (no eating in the car) and not to turn the backseat into a garbage can (that’s what the trunk is for). Because of the rain, I’ve been forced to *SLOW THE F- DOWN!* and haven’t been a speed demon *at all* this week.

The point I’m trying to make is that I’ve been extra careful and I *did not* break the remote control door unlocker/opener thing.

I woke up on time this morning, but was making calls and sending emails… so I had to race in & out of the shower and ran out the door in the chaotic mess that I was… hair wet and uncombed, clothes thrown on (but discombobulated), bags of crap in tow.

I ran out the front door, down the driveway, and down to the street. When I got out to Yoshi’s car, I hit the unlock button on the remote entry thing and BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

*joz tries desperately to UNLOCK the car door and disengage the car alarm*

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

My bags are falling all over the place and the door refuses to unlock using the remote.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I put down my bags and try to use the key to unlock the car door.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

My wet hair is in my face and eyes and I can’t seem to get the key to turn.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

After some jiggling, the key finally turns and the car alarm disengages itself. I pick my bags off the street and dump them in the front seat. I look up and there is this guy walking down the sidewalk and I realize he has totally witnessed this entire jozjozjoz scene and he is trying so hard not to point and laugh.

“I’m already late!” I said. “And this is the last thing I needed!”

He laughed at me and said, “That’s right. The last thing you need, first thing of the day.”

I gave him the sheepish-jozjozjoz-is-a-dork grin and hopped in the car to just barely make it into the office on time. The remote still doesn’t work (to lock or unlock) so I have to use the key.

It is my contention that the remote was molested by Michael, right after he molested my blog. So I am blaming *him* for breaking it. Or something.

  • Hate it when that happens! BEEP…. Had a door swich goign out on my van it when I had the van “armed” the switch would go off and say the door was open BEEP… 3am BEEP… Don’t have an alarm in this one, but it is a POS too:(

  • sometimes technology is our own worst enemy…i’ve got a love/hate relationship w/all things electronic *sigh* at least ya made it to work on time!! {{hugs}}

  • I think you inavertedly set the alarm system to valet mode. My alarm usually sets itself that way when I press the 2 button then the 1 button. If you can find a alarm installer and tip him a 20 he can figure out whats wrong with the jozjozjoz thing and you can again be on Yoshi’s good side. Best of luck. Aloha!
