Yup, yup!
It occurred to me as I was walking through the door at 3am that I had promised my mom take I’d take her out for a spa day for her birthday and it still hasn’t happened yet.
Did I mention that my mom’s birthday is at the beginning of September?
I am a horrible daughter.
How many nights can I go without nearly enough sleep?!
We shall soon find out!!!
Ok, I have been accused for torturing Yoshi and I have to set the record straight.
Though I might possibly accused of neglecting my Hunny, I certainly did not tell anyone to go clean toilet water at 2am at my Office #2. Anyone who claims that simply does not know the facts.
These are the facts:
-I went directly to Office #2 after leaving Office #1. Arriving around 7pm. I called Yoshi and said that I’d be home late. Late late.
-At around 9pm, I called Yoshi… I was in a very grumpy mood. I was overwhelmed and on the verge of tears. SO MUCH WORK! I took a little walk around, went to the restroom, noticed that there was a group downstairs using the large room for a meeting.
-I went back upstairs and continued working furiously so I was surprised when around midnight the phone rang & it was Yoshi asking me to open the door downstairs. I got a surprise visit from Hunny to keep me company while I finished my work!
-As I headed to open the door, I walked through a giant puddle of water. When I came back to see what was wet, I found that the entire downstairs bathroom as well as the adjoining 3 rooms had been flooded by a leaking/overflowing tank. I turned the water off the the busted toilet (it was NOT the one I had used!!! I did NOT break the toilet!!!) and tried to open the custodian’s closet to get at the mops but it was locked.
-With another 2-3 hours worth of work left to do, I ran upstairs and emailed/left messages for the building supervisors letting them know what was going on.
-I don’t know what happened to Yoshi at that point. Yoshi asked to borrow my keys and disappeared downstairs for a couple hours. I just kept working. I realized that my Hunny had been gone for a while and I went looking.
-At 2am, I found Yoshi downstairs, sweeping/mopping all the water out the doors. I did not make this request, nor would I imagine ever asking anyone who just came home from the hospital a day earlier to bring me food at midnight and play plumber/janitor and to keep me company while I do my boring office work.
-I did, however, put a band-aid and ointment on the boo-boo Yoshi got after all that. And I did end up asking for a little help with my work before we went home and crashed.
So while I sounded grumpy and sad when I called Yoshi at 9pm, I realize that I am so lucky to have a wonderful Hunny who will clean toilet water at 2am so I didn’t have to be there all night doing so. And, I got food & hugs & the presence of my Hunny, too!
I am so lucky & hope that the misconception that I am GenghisJoz, the Yoshi Torturer goes away soon!
I think I start my posts with “Yawn” way too often.
Genevieve was nice enough to provide more exclusive photos for this site!
These are photos she took recently (within the last couple of months) with South Beach photographer extraordinaire Brian B. Hayes.

and only mildly high on vicodin at the moment.
just wanted to say thanks to everyone who kept us in their thoughts and sent good wishes our way while i had my mini vacation in room 7133. it was an odd and not-to-be-repeated experience.
all i have to say is that everyone should eat right and exercise, and i wish that none of you ever have a gallstone attack. even people i don’t like should not have to go through that.
more to come on the experience, although i daresay you all must be bored of the whole thing by now. but there were crazy people on my floor…
update: i forgot to mention how much jozjozjoz kicks ass! my girlfriend, along with being beautiful, smart, and the best dancer in the world, also happens to be the best patient advocate i’ve ever seen! i don’t think those people at the hospital knew what hit them when jozjozjoz went on the rampage. it was a sight to see — or hear, rather, as i was zonked out on demerol most of the time. another one of the 1,000,001 reasons i love her.
Yoshi is indeed getting out of the hospital today!
In other good news, our friend Genevieve Gallen has some exciting news! STAY TUNED!
There is good news to report!
Yoshi sounds MUCH better today. Actually, Yosh started to sound better yesterday… so much so that they didn’t have to completely dope my Hunny out on demerol. It was nice to hear Yosh lucid for the first time in days (if not weeks… from the vicodin before that).
Early yesterday evening they did the ERCP procedure. They may even let Yoshi go home tomorrow, but not do the gallbladder surgery until a later date… after the pancreatitis has had more time to go away.
So it’s not over yet, but at least we have a better sense of what’s happening.
And Yoshi is well enough to be bored. So I am going to bring music and some magazines. And if you’re so inclined, you can call and say that some crazy chick wrote this number on the bathroom wall. 310-xxx-xxxx (direct line to the room).
Oh yes, and I actually slept last night, so I’m not as panicky as I was a
couple of days ago. Anyway, thanks for all your support!
UPDATE: The above was written this morning around 11am. As of the posting time, I had visited & Yoshi is in much better spirits. I’m hoping that Hunny comes home tomorrow!
