Eggplant Puzzle Progress: Day 3

This is a couple of days late, but this was the puzzle by end of day Saturday.

Day 3

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Yes, I know it’s messed up! We’re working on it! Check back often!

Why I am not a model and why she is.

Welcome to the new jozjozjoz.com & what a way to start it out with a photo of Genevieve Gallen (and me). I know you’re too busy staring and wiping the drool off your keyboard, but I’m in that picture, too!

I wish I could say that the picture speaks for itself, but really there is a whole story behind it and I’m not able to tell it right now.

Ch-ch-ch CHANGES!

(Originally posted here at www.insignifica.org/jozjozjoz)

This is intended to be my last official post before the big move to the new & improved jozjozjoz.com.

That’s right, if you go directly to jozjozjoz.com, you will find that I’ve moved and am slowly settling in to my own server. (Yes, I know it’s messed up right now!)

In fact, I’ve already posted the first official post at the new site & if you’re in the mood for some eye candy, check it out! (Tease: It’s a Genevieve Gallen picture.)

No more mooching off of Mike, no more making his server crash because I’ve loaded a giant 234087308914 MB Genevieve Gallen photo.

Yup, I get to create all new headaches for myself because I’ll mess things up & won’t have Mike to magically fix it for me.

The list of folks to thank would be pages and pages long, so I’ll be brief. Thanks to Mike Doss for sending me down the slippery slope of blogging and for everyone who has helped me along the way… especially Gingersmack, Mikey2, Mr Don, and Michael.

Thanks also to the other contributors to this blog: yoshi, professoreric, sharky the kid, and tcubed…

We’ll see you on the other side!

because i’d never do it…

i can blog about it. i really like this show, i think jozjozjoz wants to cry when she hears the theme music.

clean sweep. they clear all the clutter out of your room and redo it for you, making it more functional and nice.

did i mention that jozjozjoz cries when i try to throw away MY old t-shirts?

product of the 80’s?

spent way too much time thinking of these. (thanks to Out Out Blogger for this one!)

my score: 139.5

and i only cheated a little.

OMG, I’m exhausted…

What an incredible day.

There are pictures on the way.

Thanks to Yoshi for letting me be a neglectful girlfriend and run around all over town today.

Thanks to Genevieve and Goomi for all the fun & antics.

I just got back from dinner with my family (an early birthday dinner for me/bon voyage dinner for my dad). It will be weird sleeping in my old room again.

Eggplant Puzzle Progress: Day 2

Here we go, the fruits of our labor after day 2.

Yoshi did a bunch while I was at work & then I invested a few hours into assembling some more eggplants before going to bed.

I think we did 14-1/2 eggplants in one day.

I like how the missing pieces make it look like someone took a bite out of some of the eggplants.

Eggplant Puzzle Progress: Day 1

I admit it. I am an eggplantophile.

Whenever I go to an Italian restaurant, the first thing on the menu I check out is the eggplant parmesan. If I go to Panda Express, you can bet that one of my items is the garlic eggplant. The funny thing is that the awesome YoshiDad is the same way. We are always ordering the same eggplant dishes when we go out to eat.

So anyway, it gave me great joy when YoshiMom gave me a poster-sized puzzle of Elizabeth Berry’s Eggplant for Christmas last year.

We finally opened it up last night & now that I have some (relative) free time, I have a goal of completing the sucker by Christmas because it barely fits on the coffee table. I hope to have it glued down & mounted & ready to be framed (along with my still unframed Jobe Benjamin prints).

Last night, while catching up with all the Ellen Degeneres Show episodes I’d TiVo’d, this is what I accomplished in one sitting:

four little holes…

that’s all there are to prove that my gall bladder is gone. oh, and my dad has the stones. ugly little fuckers. should have taken pictures.

i have one incision at my solar plexus, two on my right side about half way down my abdomen, and one inside my belly button. that’s the strangest one, i think. and my belly button is taped shut with the stuff they used to keep the stitches in place. so it’s neither an innie nor an outie, it’s just plugged up. kind of like when they patch a pot hole in the street, they just fill it in with a little asphalt and it overflows the top….

oooh. excuse me, i’m on vicodin. in case you hadn’t already noticed. i think it’s time to go sleep some of this off…

It happens more often than I’d like to admit.

On an almost-weekly basis, I lose my wallet.

Not LOSE-lose (knock on wood), but it’s not in my purse (where it’s supposed to be).

Yoshi can attest to the frequency upon which I dump out the contents of my purse, then my messenger bag, mutter beneath my breath about how I need to clean my desk, start digging in the pile of shit in my desk, and generally freak out about how I can’t find my wallet. And then Yoshi says, “Did you check your car?” And 99.9% of the time, I find it in my car.

The sad thing is, once I get over the immediate panic of losing the damn thing, I forget that it happened and don’t do a better job of putting my wallet away where it’s supposed to be.

Reading Christine’s story about losing her keys at WalMart (ok, she didn’t lose them… someone stole her cart) made me remember that it happened again last night.

Now, I don’t know why I have to panic before going out to my car. I don’t know why I don’t just look in the car before I panic, but I swear, the moment my wallet is “missing” I freak out and start thinking about everything replaceable and irreplaceable in the wallet & how I’m going to have to call a million different places to get all my credit cards and stuff back.

I also don’t know why Yoshi puts up with this all-too-often routine. I’m surprised I haven’t been whacked upside the head by now for it.

And my KEYS! Yoshi bought/mounted an Ikea keyholder right by the door so that I’d never lose them in the house. But a few weeks ago, I had to borrow the YoshiMobile to work because I was late and still couldn’t find my keys by the time I had to leave for work. And sometime later that day, Yoshi found my keys behind the couch.

What is the lesson I’ve learned from the constant disappearances of my wallet and keys?

Evidently nothing.

Ominous

Ominous was the only word that popped to mind when I saw this at approx 5:00pm.

Just North of Hollywood

There was also lightning and rolling thunder. Weird. And a little scary.

It Never Rains in Southern California…

… unless it’s the day I want to rush home to be with my Hunny, that is.

GAH!

Yoshi’s out of the hospital!

I got the call a few hours ago.

Evidently, the Yoshi and the YoshiDad are going to go watch Radio.

I, again, am stuck at work. Blah.

The lamest idea for a parody…

Seriously. How stupid is this?

Just got back from the hospital…

By “back” I mean I’m at Office #2.

I spent a few hours with Yoshi in the hospital. (Thanks to Don for looking up directions to the hospital for me! I was so rushed to leave work and see Yoshi that I forgot to look up the hospital address/directions before I left.) My Hunny seems to be doing fine, but has to spend the night there. Yoshi was in a lot of pain when I got there and even though they’d administered morphine, it didn’t seem to make the pain go away any.

So they said to try vicodin & that seemed to help a little. I got kicked out because someone wanted sleep. Oh well, that means I get to do a little work at the office before I go home and clean up for Yoshi’s return home.

Aside from my 10+ hours of The Ellen Show the other day, I’ve watched more TV in the last couple weeks than I have in months. And the sad part is that all that other TV watching was done in the hospital while hanging with Yoshi. I think I’m done watching TV in hospitals. I think we’re done with hospitals for a while now.

Yoshi’d better come home tomorrow. (sigh)

Yoshi’s surgery is today…

… I’m hoping that the procedure can be done by laparoscopy (did I spell that right?) and that my Hunny will be home tonight.

I’m so glad YoshiDad drove all night from up north to come and take Yoshi to the hospital this morning. Thank goodness he’ll be there all day today, too.

As usual, I am stuck at work. Blah.

What a difference a day makes…

…this was taken tonight at the Beverly Hills Hotel for the Museum of Television & Radio Gala.

Here was the last picture of the night… a totally worth it at the end of a long day.

Too bad Matt Le Blanc doesn't look as hot in this picture as he did in person... rawr!!!

Thanks to Sharky, who is not only the person who generously hooked us up with the photo op with Matt Le Blanc… but is also the person who took the photo. You rock.

(I hope we don’t get banned from this next year!)

What I submitted to the Ellen Show…

So I dig the Ellen Degeneres Show and I hog TiVo space by recording it everyday. Since I’ve been working so hard, I haven’t had time to watch it. Until Sunday, that is. This is what I submitted for her “What are you doing while you are watching me?” segment.

Wouldn't it just be my luck to look like total shit for my first time on national television?

I work 3 jobs and have been working 18-20 hours a day for about a month straight. I finally got sick on the day of a major event and spent the next day on the couch in front of TV catching up on 3 weeks worth of Ellen shows I had saved on the TiVo. I am on cold medication and recuperating while watching your show. I think I’ve watched more than 10 hours of your show today and feel much better now. Whoever said “Laughter is the Best Medicine” was on to something.

P.S.-I put a picture of myself watching Ellen on my website at jozjozjoz.com

I’m fine.

Ignore the coughing and hacking. I'm not sick.

Thank you for asking.

*cough cough*

I’m not sick.

I’m just not.

Really. I’m not.

(whimper)

I still love you all

I have not forgotten my public, but i have been needed elsewhere. do not think i have forgotten you. No, on the contrary, i remember you. in fact i am peeking through your curtains right now. miss you my tiny baby brussel sprout. and remember who’s here for you. it is late, and i felt i had to gush and send some love out to y’all since i have disappeared for quite some time. -professoreric

Just when you thought it was safe…

… I open my email box and see this.

Wheeeee! (and I love Yoshi!)

It’s only 2:45am and I’m just working on the last bit of stuff for tomorrow at home.

I would have been there all night (literally) had Yoshi not come over & helped from 10pm to 2:30am.

I AM SO LUCKY!!!

Going. Crazy.

Arrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhh!

And how’s your day going?!
