Why do I do this to myself every year? Arrrgh!
And now my mom is on my case about my weight and her weight and GAH!
LEAVE ME ALONE!
IT’S THANKSGIVING! It’s 3am! We are supposed to be sleeping, not worrying about the 1328023874183274 calories ingested in one evening!
I’m *supposed* to stuff my face with all the nummy food my auntie and uncle prepared… turkey and steak (filet mignon) and mashed potatoes and stuffing and gravy and corn on the cob and green beans and garlic bread and a teeny weeny bit of cranberry sauce and a piece of Marie Callendar’s pumpkin pie with real whip cream with a scoop of Dreyer’s Apple Pie Ice Cream!
Despite the fact that they were topped with little marshmallows, I did pass on the yams, though. Ooh, a lot of self-control needed on that one!
[yams/sweet potatoes are on my short list of 3 foods I absolutely, positively hate to eat.]
Sounds like you had a yummy time : )
abs x
I was so busy cooking yesterday I totally forgot cranberry sauce! Plus everyone was so stuffed that we never made it to the two huge pies we had. Everything turned out real good though.
i passed on the yams for thanksgiving dinner too
I like yams / sweet potatoes, but I was raised in southwest Louisiana, where they grew tons of both, and they’re always served throughout the holidays. We grew plenty of eggplants, too, but I never really cared for it, much. Funny, huh?
Well, Keith, it sounds like ifwe ever dine together on a meal of yams and eggplant… you can have the yams and I’ll take the eggplant!
it’s a deal, then!
fat and happy is better than skinny and starving. when it comes to thanksgiving at my house, there is ALWAYS room for one more bite…! that is until my belt has no more notches to losen up. THEN its time to slow down. (notice i didn’t say stop)
*L* My mother makes those same yams (with marshmallows) and I can’t stand them either. If forced I pick the marshmallows off the top and just eat those.
Yams?
Yick, yuck, yack!
And why do they have to ruin perfectly good marshmallows by making them touch yams?!?!
