I usually do my voting via absentee ballot.
I am *supposed* registered as a permanent absentee voter… meaning that they are supposed to automatically send me my ballot in the mail. I found out at the 2000 Presidential Election that there is some problem with the system (no shit!) and that if I don’t request an absentee ballot at every election, I don’t get it.
Anyway, I *thought* I had sent my request for a ballot in, but guess what I just found in my messenger bag?!
This means I have to go out of my way to go vote (I had planned my day around the fact that I would not need to go vote in person). Now I have to tell my boss that I’m likely to come in late that day to vote. Eeek.
And this is an important election, too. Yeesh!

you and me both. i forgot to send mine in too, so now i’m voting on my way to work tuesday morning. and they moved my voting place *again*. seems like every time i have to go vote in person they’ve moved the location - and i end up spending a flockin half-hour circling the neighborhood, looking for the polling place. grrrr…
You’re in luck. Los Angeles county allows for early voting. You just need to find the closest polling place. Here’s a link:

Thanks Phil, but I’m not in luck. I’m registered to vote in Orange County (the horror!).
Ok, according to the California Secretary of State’s website, Orange County *does* allow early voting. I have been unsuccessful in finding out where, however.
